What energy do you choose?
2 Thess 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will continue until one comes out of the midst.
11 And because of this, God will send them strong delusion, in order for them to believe the lie,
A mystery is something hidden in the dark.
What is hidden, can be disclosed and uncovered.
Usually mysteries are to be revealed.
God is very smart.
God will not allow His mysteries to be accessed through physical senses.
If He did, then everyone could access them, even those who hate God and want to seize what He has for their own power.
So God only allows admission through His Spirit and that to the degree which a person is mature enough to access them and still attribute the glory back to Him.
Not all mysteries are good.
When the fall of man occurred the mystery of sin and lawlessness started.
From that moment, this mystery is being disclosed to the world in many complex forms.
For one, man lived 900 years.
Now he lives 80-90.
In the USA we see a blatant disregard for the constitution and moral principles which were not prevalent one generation back.
It’s all the disclosure of this mystery.
11 And because of this, God will send them strong delusion, in order for them to believe the lie,
The kicker is verse eleven
The Greek reveals what the English will never tell us.
Strong delusion should be translated as “the energy of planetizing.”
Deception is planeo from where the word planet comes from.
Planets were called as such because they appeared to wander in orbits around the sun.
The one who is deceived wonders and wonders and can never come to the truth.
So the mystery of sin and lawlessness releases an energy as it is being disclosed, and will continue to do so.
It’s an energy which causes people to wander.
It’s alive and well in our atmosphere.
But God is great.
He has provided an opposite energy for those who want it.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.
The word intercedes is the “hyper hitting of the bulls eye.”
In other words, those who manage their lives by God’s Holy Spirit are guaranteed that God will cause them to hit the bull’s eye of His will, excessively, or in a hyper way. He will protect them from the bad energy.
These two energies are active as we speak.
And God who never wanted a bunch of Stepford Wives, gave mankind a free will to latch on to one energy or the other.
The question begs, what energy will pull you today, because you will be undoubtedly pulled by one or the other?
As Bon Dylan sang,
“You’re going to have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.”
